Adelaide Yearling Sales
523 Lots Over 2 Sessions
March 12 and 13
Adelaide has always been a good genuine sale, horses make what they are worth, there is virtually a lot of good horses that have emerged from the Adelaide Sales, and it is not an inflated sale.
Without Fear was a prolific sire, he stood under the care of the late Colin Hayes at Lindsay Park that was a wonderful era, Colin was the leading breeder for several years, he created records, and grandson Sam is emulating him.
Cornerstone has the biggest draft, with 46 lots by a variety of sires, Sam Hayes is not putting all his eggs in one basket, all his sires are basically first season sires.
The Free Eagle colt, out of Shanghai Moon, made $250,000 in Melbourne, he looks a likely Derby colt, he is sure to stay, he has a double cross of Sadler’s Wells, he was selected by a good judge in John Foote of Queensland.
Zebedee is an interesting sire, he has 20 lots to be offered in the sale, he was very quick and is showing the speed that has made him a much sought after sire in Europe, where he has sired 234 winners.
Morphettville is a great sales centre, you can move about in comfort and the staff is always obliging.
