The 2019 Gold Coast National Weanling Sale got away to a good beginning when the first lot sold, by So You Think, from Babel for $200,000.
Sales of $200,000 and above were fairly frequent during the first session, when 265 lots were catalogued.
L ot 15 a filly by Kingman, was knocked down to Kitchwin Hills Stud for $280,000, Lot 44, a Not A Single colt to Ampulla Lodge for $280,000, Lot 53, a colt by Not A Single Doubt, was claimed by James Bester for$300,000.
Laceby Lodge Stud had the final bid on Lot 123, a colt by Exceed and Excell, and Lot 166 for $230,000.
Lot 207, a filly by American Pharoah, knocked down to Suman Hedge Bloodstock for $200,000, Lot 221, a colt by Capitalist, sold for $200,000 to Grant Bloodstock, Lot 222, by Not A Single Doubt for $250,000, and another Capitalist colt went to the call of Bruce Mackenzie.
Lot 258, a chestnut colt by Written Tycoon, sold for $290,000, the buyer, Fernrigg Farm NSW.
The day finished with a Gross Amount of $10,067,500, with an Average of $59,926, and the Median $30,000, with a clearance rate of 75 % .
